Leah Ruekberg holds a Master's Degree in Teaching Humanities from Colorado College, and has taught Language Arts for over a decade.

As an Artist in Residence, she has been telling stories and teaching others to do so since 1993. Her popular workshop, "Funnier Than Fiction: Your Life as Story" has been requested by schools, libraries, and writing centers in Rochester and the Genesee Valley.

She also performs lively family stories in libraries, museums, churches, conferences, and private settings for family audiences. As one students put it, "When you tell your stories I feel like I'm at the movies.  I just sit back and watch the pictures."

She has been a featured storyteller at the National Storytelling Conference (2003) and Sharing the Fire Storytelling Conference in Boston (2004).  She has offered residencies, performances, and coaching sessions in public and private schools in western New York since 1995.
